About Us

Who we are?
ADEELA for culture and art is a youth-led nonprofit project founded in 2018, with very unique and talented ideas to spotlight social problems and issues that young people face in their everyday life, focusing on Peace, social justice and human rights issues in Sudan. ADEELA believes that the best way to overcome social problems is to uncover them, in a very attractive and unfamiliar way that helps Sudanese youth view things from a different perspective, in a way that sparks the discussion on these issues and carefully creates an open-minded room for dialogue, paving the way to find solutions for a better tomorrow that we all seek to see in our nation.

Mission

To provide Sudanese youth with a broad framework for positive engagement in public sphere issues, through creating them the opportunities that they deserve to freely express their views regardless of their backgrounds, also utilizing art to see things from different angles enabling youth to create their own perspective and broaden their horizon. Achieving an ever-developing self-sustained society where diversity, equality are accepted as a basic standard and our social norms are being questioned and criticise, concluding to effectively create positive change in our communities.

Vision

To positively change how Sudanese youth see themselves and their country

What we do

Our main concern is to spread peace among Sudanese by creating a platform where young people learn, accept and celebrate their culture and ethnic diversity, strengthen and enrich the community throughout the brilliant and creative ideas that youth have. Sudan is the third-largest country in Africa and is surrounded by seven countries. This makes the diversity of cultures, ethnic and ages a positive advantage. Adeela's main value is to spread peace among Sudanese by creating a platform where young people learn, accept and celebrate their culture and ethnic diversity, strengthen and enrich the community throughout the brilliant and creative ideas that youth have.

ADEELA Comic magazine

It is a Sudanese superhero comic magazine, It hopes to entertain youth as well as raise their awareness on different topics related to social peace, justice, equality, and human rights all of which are issues present within our Sudanese context. Adeela hopes to use art as a medium of enlightenment and knowledge dissemination, all for the aim of getting youth involved in tackling the issues faced by every member of society today. To help them better understand the conflicts taking place in their own backyard. To inspire them to be change-makers in their local community and in greater Sudanese society at large. We at Adeela believes in building bridges, links and fostering a more positive image of the future we can have so that the young generation can actively seek to create this image and create the change they wish to see in their society.

Title Issue Zero
Description Adeela a ten year old introverted child who longs for many of the basic things in life we take for granted: family, friends, acceptance, care, etc. She feels invisible and alone in both her home-life and society. She is highly empathetic and kind, despite the difficult hand she’s been given in life. She selflessly places herself in awful situations if she feels it would help someone else. She is nearsighted and therefore squints a lot when having to observe far objects
